GREEN URBAN DESIGN

Green Urban Design LLC connects communities with the ideas and tools to make neighborhoods more livable, equitable, and sustainable.   Its purpose is to organize an ecosystem of diverse collaborators who can form inclusive, trusting, and enduring community agreements to ensure future performance of neighborhoods.  Our website name, greenurbandesign.com, was purchased 20 years ago. At that time, it seemed to state the value of natural systems within the local natural ecology while sustaining urban economic vitality and minimizing pollution.  Since then, Green Urban Design has been tested as an approach on projects in healthcare, technology, life science, transport, and neighborhood design projects around the world to create high quality urban places with low carbon lifestyle options for people.

CHARLES M. KELLEY Jr.

PRINCIPAL

AIA  |  LEED BD+C  |  NCARB

With 37 years of experience in architecture, urban design, and master planning, Charles brings his award-winning experiences to every scale of planning and design in the making of institutional and municipal places in the US and across the Pacific Rim.  As a former Principal at ZGF Architects, he continues to serve as a strategic advisor on design that incorporates community aspirations.

His practice uses the value of integrated design and technology to leverage multiple objectives across mobility, watersheds, energy, water, land use, and open space systems, which contribute to regenerative neighborhoods.  In so doing, it helps build capacity for marginalized and disinvested communities to re-configure their neighborhoods to promote health and wellbeing.
